Gary Holm, M.Sc., B.A. - Community-Based Management Specialist

Mr. Holm has 38 years of experience in the areas of capacity development, rural water supply, sanitation, and community-based management.  This has included more than 15 years in senior project management roles including Field-Based Team Leader and Program Manager for donor-funded projects in Indonesia, Malawi, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ghana and Swaziland. Technical experience includes advising senior government officials on policy and organizational development, change management, institutional strengthening and capacity development to improve service delivery and development planning.  Over the last six years, Mr. Holm has concentrated on improving community-based water, sanitation and health management and delivery.  He has supported and advised government, community groups, water management agencies, NGOs, and the private sector in the implementation of sustainable community-based water and sanitation. He led the CIDA-funded Community Water Sanitation and Health Project in Malawi, and is currently the Canada-based Project Director on both the Infrastructure Services Project in Malawi and an environmental capacity building project in Bangladesh.
